February 24th was The Embassy Church’s first Sunday worship gathering after a week long “Solemn Assembly.” Following the model of Nehemiah chapters 8-9 we committed to commune with God by reading God’s word, repentance, fasting, and prayer. We were amazed by the faithful community that braved more than 6 inches of snow to share testimonies regarding their communion with God during our fast. Pastor Derrick led us through this sacred moment and then challenged us from the scriptures. For the disciple, a hunger for God is not a one-week calling; it is a way of life.
Read “The Solemn Assembly Fast” to gather the context of these testimonies.
