Grace & Truth & Homosexuality (1st Corinthians 6:9-11)

by

In the aftermath of the SCOTUS decision, which drastically redefines marriage, the Church in America found itself divided between two ideologies that have been inappropriately deemed mutually exclusive. Some, in an effort to affirm homosexual marriage, chose to mangle the Scriptures beyond recognition. It is affirmed by the ill-considered mantra #LoveWins. The opposing camp reacted aggressively in the form of ad-hominem arguments, flippant disregard for the inherent value of fellow image bearers, and an emphasis on truth that amounted to clubbing dissenting voices over the head. To be clear, God has not called us to be advocates of truth OR grace. As the ambassadors of the kingdom, we are the voices of truth AND grace. Pastor Brandon challenges the manner in which we have reacted to the present circumstances. The Gospel has not changed! The Great Commission has not succumb to an expiration date! Instead of crying over changed in laws, let the Church influence culture!

  1. Hi Brandon,
I heard you speak at DCC this evening. I have been working on your challenge in growing discontent and have been feeling the burdened about the most segregated hour of the week, Sunday morning! I live in the BOston area and have a burning desire to step out of my comfort zone. It has been on my heart to visit Asian churches and black churches in the are. I have 2 already in mind, one in Revere, MA and the other in Dorchester, Ma.
I thank God for the work you have done for the Kingdom come! You have inspired me to move and not to keep talking!

    In HIm, Debbie Homola
