An Idea Whose Time Has Come (Rev. 5:9-10)

by

“I’m ashamed and appalled that eleven o’clock on Sunday morning is the most segregated hour in Christian America.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  —

Pastor Brandon recognized the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday to commemorate the sacrifice and persistence of thousands of men and women who sought to bring integration to our country.  He also recognizes that we have not arrived.  By and large, Sunday morning is still a segregated hour.  This is shameful and appalling because the Church is the voice of the Gospel.  We are the ambassadors of reconciliation.  Our unity was purchased by Christ’s blood.  It was of such value to our God that he commissioned his Son to die for it.  As lovers of God, the Church is to value unity as much as the Master; we sacrificially pursue its fulfillment.  This is an idea whose time has come!  In fact, it is long overdue!
