Building upon his answer to their question in Chapter 8, the Apostle Paul goes on to provide a specific example of how faithfulness may compel a believer to forgo liberties. In spite of his right to receive a wage, he rejected it for fear that those in Corinth would stumble under the impression that he was preaching the Gospel for money. Pastor Brandon uses this passages to challenge the Church – charging them to be mindful of their audience as they partake in legitimate liberties. Why? Because we seek to be “all things to all men that by all means we may save some.” (1Cor. 9:22)
