Jesus did not commit his life to seeking and saving the found. He fixated on “seeking and saving the lost.” In contrast, we tend to focus on pursuing people who are already members of our camp. Pastor Brandon challenges us to recognize our call to engage those who self-identify as “non-Christian.” Jesus’ countercultural behavior of engaging “sinners” should be a model for the church. Instead of warring against the lost, we are called to engage them.
