Our annual Solemn Assembly will start at Midnight on the morning of January 4th<\/sup> and end at Noon on January 9th<\/sup><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During this week we are asking the entire body of The Embassy Church to fast and pray.\u00a0 We also ask that you gather with other embassadors on Saturday (January 9th<\/sup>) to break the fast in community; celebrating what God accomplished in and through us during the week.\u00a0 We are calling this our “Solemn Assembly” as it is a time when we as a church body appeal to God, in concert, via common prayers.<\/p>\n

Each day of the week we are asking that you spend time praying over the issue assigned to that day (see the list below<\/em>). \u00a0Please fast from something that you will miss (e.g. television, daily meal(s), internet, etc). \u00a0What is a routine part of your life that you are willing to set aside in an effort to display a hunger for God? \u00a0Our hope is to have a church that is united in prayer. \u00a0Please spend the next week determining what you will fast as we seek God\u2019s guidance.<\/p>\n

Monday, January 4th<\/sup><\/strong> \u2013 Our Scripture reading for the day is 1st<\/sup> John 1:5-10 as we seek a day of repentance.\u00a0 Before we appeal to God to intervene in the following prayers, we should repent of besetting sin. He has assured us that He is \u201cfaithful and just to forgive us our sins and all unrighteousness.\u201d\u00a0 Let us bring our sins to him before we bring our appeals.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, January 5th<\/sup><\/strong> \u2013 Our Scripture reading for the day are Ephesians 5:22-33; 1st<\/sup> Corinthians 7; and Hebrews 10:24-25 as we pray for the health of marrieds, singles, and the church.\u00a0 There is no relationship or season of life that is beyond God\u2019s purview.\u00a0 He has a divine plan for marrieds, singles, and the relationships within the body of worshippers.\u00a0 Lets us spend this day seeking him for his divine will for all relationships.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, January 6th<\/sup><\/strong> \u2013 Our Scripture readings for the day are Matthew 9:35-38 and Matthew 28:16-20.\u00a0 On this day we appeal to God for the ongoing mission, vision, and financial viability of The Embassy Church.\u00a0 God has provided a calling that we are to pursue in a manner that makes his name famous.\u00a0 Let us pray that he give us missional hearts that week the well being of our mission field and provide the means by which we are to do his will in our city.<\/p>\n

Thursday, January 7th<\/sup><\/strong> \u2013 Our Scripture reading for the day is Ephesians 4:1-6.\u00a0 On this day we appeal to God for the unity of his Church throughout the world.\u00a0 While we are called to implement the vision in diverse places and manners, the message is unchanging; it universal across all local churches.\u00a0 Pray that God would remind his Church of our oneness of mission.<\/p>\n

Friday, January 8th<\/sup><\/strong> \u2013 Our Scripture reading for the day is Jeremiah 29:4-14.\u00a0 On this day we are praying for hearts that are fixated on God as we trust him to be the one who will guide us through difficult times.\u00a0 In an age in which fear and \u201cterrorism\u201d have become catch words, the Church is called to be the people who celebrate the unwavering reign of God.\u00a0 Pray that we trust him and look to his divine plan, even when we are told that we should live in fear.<\/p>\n
